Since I'm a big fan of the Northern Ireland local food products and also often good've heard about the large indoor market in Belfast, we decided on a Friday to visit the market. I was overwhelmed, the market is a mixture with selling stalls from Asian, European and South American cuisine, including some of Northern Ireland's most popular foods such as homemade soda bread, wheat and if the famous Belfast bap. Seafood, meat, fresh fruits and vegetables are also abundant in the market. There is also a wide selection of homemade jams, chutneys and oils but also handmade gifts; Paintings, jewelery and ceramics, ideal if you want a holiday a little of Northern Ireland to take home.
In any case, I would like to advise you with an empty stomach to visit the market, it would be a shame not to taste to leave the market.
There is such a wide variety of freshly prepared dishes. Crepes, paella, curries galore along with the popular Belfast baps and the Cuban sandwich stall. Some local providers offer home-brewed beer and cider as the Armagh Cider. Who you are like me a sweet tooth, then the St Georges Market has a wide selection of cupcakes and dessert items. Some of Northern Ireland finest handmade chocolates, you should enjoy. The market is a great experience for the whole family with a live band entertainment.
